As previously reported on this Blog here, Brandon Johnson died at the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex on October 6, 2012 due to complications from a broken neck. Now, the Milwaukee County District Attorney will conduct a John Doe investigation into the death of Mr. Johnson. The John Doe, which is scheduled for March 4-7, 2013, will be conducted in an open hearing before Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Jeffrey Conen. In addition, Disability Rights Wisconsin, a patient advocacy group, is calling for the State of Wisconsin to either suspend or terminate the license of the Complex due to the history of problems, including several patient deaths and patient sexual assaults.
